It looked like things had been haphazardly strung up over the windows but whatever it was one of the backseat windows had come loose. Number one – what if someone had joy ridden it here and he had to call the police? Number two – what if it was one of the team’s and had something valuable on display that could be stolen? It was at that point that Ted actually looked into the car and neither of those two was the case. He tells himself a lot of different reasons for peering into the car. “Thanks there fella,” he called out to the Uber driver, waving as he drove off.
Ted didn’t even know why he was here let alone why anyone else would be. It was the middle of the night on a day where they didn’t have training. Pulling into the carpark of Nelson Road, Ted is surprised to see another car in the carpark. “Sorry there sir but I need to change where you will be taking me if that ain’t too much trouble!” Ted leant forwards, patting the driver on the shoulder. Yet, he watches his hands shake and the adrenaline doesn’t fade as the car pulls out into traffic. There’s one thing Ted knows as he gets into the Uber after Rebecca’s dad’s funeral and that is that it has been a long day.
